Hon. Richard Court AC

Chairman

Richard was premier and treasurer of Western Australia from 1993-2001.  He retired from Parliament after nineteen years as the Member for Nedlands.  His Government achieved the successful privatisation of SGIO, BankWest, Alinta Gas, Westrail Freight and the DBNG pipeline.  Richard was actively involved with initiatives to expand the resources sector including the successful deregulation of the Western Australian gas market, the LNG marketing push into China and Korea , and infrastructure support for the mining and oil and gas sector.  These interests are now being actively pursued through the private sector.  Richard is a Commerce graduate from the University of Western Australia .

Richard Linnell 

Chairman, Africa (Engineering)

Richard has been active in the resources sector for almost 40 years, with significant global experience in the development and marketing of resources and commodities. Richard was a former head of Billiton Plc's exploration and development activities in Africa, director of BHP Billiton (SA) Ltd and a member of the Eskom Council. He is currently a non-executive chairman of Golden Valley Mines and GMA Resources Plc and a director of Moydow Mines Ltd, the Businessman Foundation, Namakwa Diamonds Ltd, South African Mineral Resources Corporation Limited and Nimag Pty Ltd.

Paulo F. Bahia Guimaraes

Chairman / Managing Director, South America (Engineering)

Paulo has over 35 years experience in mining, management, business development, evaluations, negotiations, acquisitions, strategic planning and mineral exploration. 

Paulo was Director President at BHP Brasil Limited, where he was responsible for the Brasilian operations and for sometime, marketing in Latin America.  Through his extensive Board activities, he has developed a strong relationship with many government instrumentalities and has filled senior roles in a variety of industry organisations, professional associations and institutes.

Paulo graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Geology from the Federal University of Bahia, Brasil and holds a Masters of Science and a PhD in Geology from Stanford University, California, USA.  

Senior Management

GRD Minproc's senior management team combines extensive engineering and construction industry experience with wider industry management experience. This creates a company culture with a strong business focus supported by leading technical, project delivery and operational management skills. The experienced team provides the basis for a sustainable business delivering outstanding project results for clients.

Cliff Lawrenson - GRD Group Chief Executive

Cliff joined GRD in 2004, prior to which he spent seven years with CMS Energy Corporation in the United States as Vice President Financial, Advisory and Strategic Planning. He has worked extensively in development and investment banking around the world, including in Australia and Singapore.

Cliff has served on several boards in international locations where he has lead the development and financing of numerous major infrastructure projects. Cliff holds postgraduate qualifications in commerce and finance. 

Malcolm Brown - Chief Executive (Engineering)

Malcolm Brown is a qualified engineer, with over 25 years experience in project development, primarily associated with the resource sector. He has worked in both the design and project management fields and in a number of overseas locations during his career. Malcolm is the chief operating officer for GRD, responsible for all GRD's engineering activities, including GRD subsidiaries GRD Minproc and Kirfield.

Prior to this appointment, Malcolm held the position of chief operating officer and director of project delivery for GRD subsidiary Global Renewables, responsible for all new projects undertaken by the company. Malcolm has extensive experience in managing the development of complex technical facilities. Malcolm was appointed GRD Minproc Chief Executive in June 2008.

Tom Revy - Director Development 

Tom is a qualified metallurgist with over 25 years experience in the mining industry across a broad spectrum of fields including operations, process design, finance and business development. Prior to joining GRD Minproc, Tom held a number of senior corporate roles with various mining companies where responsibilities extended to the identification and evaluation of mineral deposits and projects worldwide. Tom has undertaken an extensive amount of work in a number of countries including Australasia and North, Central and South America . Tom is an active member of various community groups.

Flora Furness - Human Resources Executive

Flora has extensive experience in the chemical, resources and oil and gas industries and has provided strategic human resource, industrial relations, and organisational performance strategies for Fortune 500 companies globally. 

Flora partners with individual executives and business teams to enhance their understanding of strategic human resource business practices, including cultural values and relationship building both internally and externally. Flora has mentored and coached a number of senior executives within organisations including ConocoPhillips, Wesfarmers CSBP Ltd and Orica, combining her comprehensive knowledge and expertise in organisational development, industrial relations, selection and training, coaching and competency development within a human resource framework.

Casey Cahill- Group Manager Corporate Affairs

Casey has more than 20 years experience as a communications practitioner. With a strong background in journalism, Casey has worked for a variety of media organisations including Channel Seven, the ABC and the BBC in London.

Casey also has 10 years experience in government, working as an advisor to both Liberal and Labor state governments. Casey has a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Journalism.

Jamil Awaida- Group Manager Commercial & Risk

Jamil has more than 15 years international and commercial managerial experience. Prior to joining GRD Minproc, he held senior Commercial and Financial Management roles on large scale construction and engineering projects throughout Australia, Africa and Greece working closely with multi-national Joint Venture partners, Funding Agencies and Major Clients. Jamil has extensive experience in international contracts negotiation, structuring and management by driving corporate strategies and mitigating risks to deliver value.

 Jamil is a member of CPA Australia, a senior associate of FINSIA Australia (SA Fin), a member of the Australian Institute of Management (AIMM), a fellow member of the Taxation Institute of Australia (FTIA); he holds a bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting from St Joseph University, Lebanon  and an MBA from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia.

Peter Kelsall - General Manager Waste-to-Resources

Peter has over 18 years experience working in the minerals processing, and oil and gas sectors. Prior to joining GRD Minproc, Peter held senior maintenance and engineering management roles throughout Australia, with both client and contractor organisations. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation and improvement of asset management strategies, including innovative approaches to contracts and contract performance.  

Peter is a qualified engineer, holding a Bachelor of Engineering and specialising in maintenance, engineering and project management. Peter is a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a member of the Maintenance Engineers Society of Australia.

Ben Zikmundovsky - General Manager, Africa (Engineering)

Ben has 31 years experience in project delivery and operation in mineral processing, construction and mining. Ben has a wealth of international and Australian experience, having worked on projects in South Africa, Botswana, Indonesia, Uruguay, Chile, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, and a Diploma in Business Management.
